Major Action by Tilhar Police in Umesh Murder Case, Four Wanted Accused Arrested.
Accused Allegedly Murdered Umesh Over an Old Dispute and Hanged His Body from a Tree; Arrests Made Near Bypass Bridge.
Tilhar/Shahjahanpur: Tilhar Police have taken major action in connection with the murder of Umesh in Naviyapur village and arrested four wanted accused. According to the police, the accused allegedly murdered Umesh due to an ongoing dispute and subsequently hanged his body from a tree.
According to the information, on August 6, 2026, the deceased’s brother, Sarvesh, son of Raghuveer Prasad, a resident of Naviyapur village, submitted a complaint at Tilhar Police Station alleging murder. Based on the complaint, police registered Case Crime No. 419/2026 under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against five named accused.
Acting on a tip-off, police arrested four wanted accused—Ram Murti, son of Bhoop Ram (65), Satyabhan, son of Ram Murti (26), Prem Chandra, son of Ram Murti (31), and Devendra, son of Ram Murti (32)—all residents of Naviyapur village. They were arrested at around 12:25 p.m. on August 9 near the bypass bridge on the Shahjahanpur Highway Road.
Police said that necessary evidence is being collected against the arrested accused. After completion of the legal formalities, all four accused are being sent into judicial custody.
The operation was conducted under the leadership of Tilhar Station House Officer (SHO) Prince Sharma. The police team included Head Constable Sanjeev Kumar, Constable Anil Kumar, Reserve Constable Prashant Kumar, and Woman Constable Priyanka.
Following the arrests, police continue to investigate the case and are making efforts to arrest the remaining named accused.
