Accused in Life-Threatening Attack with Iron Rod Arrested, Weapon Used in Crime Recovered.
Tilhar/Shahjahanpur: Tilhar Police have arrested a wanted accused as part of the ongoing campaign against crime and wanted offenders. An iron rod allegedly used in the incident was also recovered from his possession.
According to the police, on August 9, 2026, a person submitted a written complaint at Tilhar Police Station, following which a case was registered. It was alleged that the accused abused his brother, threatened to kill him, and repeatedly struck him on the head with an iron rod. The victim sustained serious injuries in the attack. In connection with the incident, a case was registered at Tilhar Police Station under Sections 109(1), 351(2), and 352 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), vide Case Crime No. 424/26.
The wanted accused, identified as Rajat, son of Pramod (28), resident of Mohalla City Sabzi Mandi, Biharipur, Kotwali Police Station area, Bareilly district, was arrested by the police on Tuesday, August 11, at around 9:50 a.m. Based on information provided by an informer, he was apprehended near Khanpur Chauraha.
Police said that an iron rod allegedly used in the crime was recovered at the instance of the arrested accused. After completing the necessary legal formalities, the accused is being produced before the court.
The police team involved in the arrest comprised Inspector-in-Charge Prince Sharma, Sub-Inspector Saurabh Shukla, Head Constable Vijay Pratap, and Reserve Constable Amit Dhaka.
