Model Prerna Canteen Inaugurated at Vikas Bhawan; Prerna Canteens to be Opened in Every Block: DM.
Shahjahanpur, July 16: In a significant initiative aimed at providing clean and quality food to the public while creating livelihood opportunities for women associated with Self-Help Groups (SHGs), District Magistrate Dharmendra Pratap Singh inaugurated the Model Prerna Canteen at the Vikas Bhawan premises on Thursday. Chief Development Officer Utkarsh Dwivedi was also present on the occasion.
The canteen, established under the Uttar Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission (UPSRLM), was inaugurated by cutting the ribbon and unveiling the foundation plaque. After the inauguration, the District Magistrate inspected the food and beverage items available at the canteen. The facility will offer tea, coffee, snacks, kadhi-chawal, chole-bhature, mineral water, and a variety of other food items.
The District Magistrate directed the officials to ensure that only high-quality, hygienic, and safe food is served at the canteen so that visitors to the Collectorate and Vikas Bhawan, including the general public, advocates, officers, and employees, receive better dining facilities.
He further stated that this model would be expanded across all development blocks of the district. A Prerna Canteen will be established in every block to provide quality food in rural areas while generating employment and self-employment opportunities for women associated with Self-Help Groups.
Among those present on the occasion were Additional District Magistrate (Administration) Rajneesh Kumar Mishra, Project Director, DRDA, Avadhesh Ram, District Development Officer Rishipal Singh, and other officials.
