Tilhar Police Arrest Accused Wanted in False Promise of Marriage, Sexual Exploitation, and Forced Abortion Case.
Tilhar,Shahjahanpur: Tilhar Police have arrested an accused who was wanted in connection with a case involving allegations of establishing a physical relationship with a woman on the false promise of marriage, forcibly causing her abortion, and issuing threats.
According to the police, on July 7, 2026, an FIR (Case Crime No. 363/2026) was registered at Tilhar Police Station under Sections 69, 89, 351(3), and 352 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) based on the victim’s complaint against Ajay Pratap Singh and other named accused from Banthara village.
The complaint alleges that Ajay Pratap Singh established a physical relationship with the victim by falsely promising to marry her and later forced her to undergo an abortion. The other accused have also been charged with abusing and threatening the victim with dire consequences.
During the investigation, after recording the victim’s statements and examining her educational documents, the police received information from an informant and arrested the main accused, Ajay Pratap Singh (35), a resident of Banthara village under Tilhar Police Station limits, near Saryu Bridge on Thursday.
Police said that after completing the necessary legal formalities, the accused is being produced before the competent court. The arrest was made by a police team led by Station House Officer Prince Sharma, with Constable Mayank Bhati assisting in the operation.
