Uttar Pradesh: On September 19, the Shahjahanpur District Congress Committee organized a “Save the Constitution, Dialogue” conference at Sadullah Farm House, located near Honda Agency on the Tilhar Highway. A huge crowd gathered at the programme.
Congress Uttar Pradesh President Ajay Rai attended the event as the chief guest, while MP Rakesh Rathore and former MLC Heera Thakur were present as special guests. He said Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was working only on paper and claimed that the government’s exit would be certain in the upcoming Assembly elections.
MP Rakesh Rathore alleged that Dalits and backward classes were being targeted and subjected to atrocities under the present government. He also said inflation had reached an extreme level and claimed that the era of a government based on false promises would come to an end.
Former MLC Heera Thakur said from the stage that people from every section of society were looking towards the Congress with hope. He said the Congress was the only party that believed in taking people of all religions along with it. District Congress president Rajneesh Gupta said that similar conferences would be organized at the block level so that people at the grassroots could get an opportunity to connect with the Congress.
Meanwhile, political discussions have intensified regarding the Congress ticket for the Tilhar Assembly constituency (133) in the upcoming Assembly elections.
