State Minister Angered Over Weak Cattle at Chandoakha Cow Shelter, Rebukes Officials.
Conducts surprise inspections of several cow shelters, reviews arrangements for fodder, water, healthcare and cleanliness
Shahjahanpur, August 12. Uttar Pradesh Cow Service Commission Member and Minister of State (with the rank of a minister) Ramakant Upadhyay conducted an extensive tour of Shahjahanpur on Wednesday and carried out surprise inspections of various cow shelters. He reviewed arrangements related to the upkeep of cattle, fodder and water supply, healthcare and cleanliness. Expressing displeasure over shortcomings, he reprimanded the concerned officials and directed them to make immediate improvements.
After entering Shahjahanpur district, the State Minister first inspected the cow shelter in Kant. He then reached the cow shelter located in Chandoakha village of Madanapur block. During the inspection, several cattle were found to be physically weak and in a malnourished condition. Expressing concern over the situation, the State Minister immediately contacted the Block Development Officer and the village head by phone and directed them to ensure adequate availability of green fodder, hay and nutritious animal feed.
He made it clear that negligence at any level in the service and care of cattle would not be tolerated. He also warned that action would be taken against officials if negligence was found in the arrangements.
Appreciates Cow-Based Natural Farming
The State Minister then reached Dhaka village, where he inspected a cow shelter operated by social worker Rajveer Singh. Finding the condition of the cattle satisfactory, he expressed his satisfaction. He also inspected the cow-based organic and natural farming initiatives being undertaken by Rajveer Singh and appreciated his efforts.
The State Minister appealed to farmers to reduce the use of chemical fertilizers and adopt cow-based natural farming. He said that this could help maintain soil fertility while also benefiting the health of farmers and the general public.
Also Inspects Cow Shelters in Katra, Tilhar and Nigohi.

During the final phase of his tour, Ramakant Upadhyay also conducted surprise inspections of cow shelters in the Katra, Tilhar and Nigohi areas. He directed officials to ensure proper cleanliness, adequate drinking water, shade and other essential facilities at the cow shelters, keeping the heat and changing weather conditions in mind.
After inspecting the major cow shelters in Shahjahanpur, the State Minister left for the neighbouring district of Pilibhit.
During the inspections, the Chief Veterinary Officer and departmental team, concerned Block Development Officers, village heads and police personnel were present. Cow service workers associated with the organization, including Dileep Sharma, Santosh Kumar and Sajeev Singh, were also present.
