In Uttar Pradesh’s Shahjahanpur, Municipal Corporation Office to Begin Operations from New Building on August 24.

Shahjahanpur: The Shahjahanpur Municipal Corporation will begin functioning from its new office building located in Kakra from Monday, August 24. On Friday, District Magistrate Dharmendra Pratap Singh, along with Municipal Commissioner Soumya Gururani, conducted an on-site inspection of the under-construction Municipal Corporation office building and reviewed the progress of the construction work.
During the inspection, the District Magistrate inspected various rooms constructed on the ground and first floors of the building. Most of the rooms on both floors were found to be nearly complete. The District Magistrate directed the Municipal Commissioner to ensure that the Municipal Corporation office starts functioning from the new building from August 24.
He also directed that the Shahjahanpur Development Authority (SDA) office should operate from the same building so that the public can access various services related to the Municipal Corporation and the Development Authority under one roof. He further instructed officials to start public hearings and other essential activities at the new premises and ensure that officers regularly remain available in the office to address public grievances.
The District Magistrate directed the executing agency to accelerate the construction work and complete it within the stipulated timeframe while maintaining the prescribed quality standards. He particularly emphasized completing the construction of the Urban Haat and Auditorium by October.
In addition, the District Magistrate reviewed the progress of the under-construction planetarium and car parking project in the city. He directed the concerned officials and the executing agency to expedite the work and complete the projects at the earliest.
The District Magistrate said that timely completion of the ongoing projects would provide better civic amenities to the residents and give further momentum to urban development in the city.
During the inspection, Additional Municipal Commissioner Ajay Kumar Tripathi, S.K. Singh, officials from the concerned departments, and engineers of the executing agency were present.
