Mission Shakti Centres Reviewed, Directions Issued for Women’s Safety.
Shahjahanpur: A review meeting of the Mission Shakti Centres established at all police stations across the district was held on Tuesday at the Reserve Police Lines under the chairmanship of the Superintendent of Police, Shahjahanpur. The Additional Superintendents of Police (Rural and City) were also present.
The meeting reviewed the implementation of the Mission Shakti campaign, safety, dignity and empowerment of women and girls, and the effective functioning of the centres. The Superintendent of Police directed officials to listen to complaints of women with seriousness and sensitivity and ensure their prompt resolution on priority.
Officials were also instructed to make women and girls aware of helpline numbers including 1090, 181, 112, 1076 and Cyber Helpline 1930. Women Beat Officers and police personnel were directed to maintain regular communication with women in their respective areas and organize awareness programmes at schools, colleges, markets and public places.
The Mission Shakti Centres were also directed to keep complaint registers and other records updated. During the meeting, Constable Lavish Giri, posted at Ram Chandra Mission Police Station, was awarded ₹2,000 for his outstanding work.
The Superintendent of Police said that women’s safety and empowerment remain among the top priorities of the police department.
