Counselling Resolves Disputes, Reunites Couples; Three Couples Agree to Live Together.
25 Cases Heard, Family Counselling Centre Reconciles Three Couples and Sends Them Home Together.
Shahjahanpur-Small disputes within families can often create cracks in relationships, but timely dialogue and counselling can help resolve them. This was demonstrated at the Family Counselling Centre held at the Police Lines in Shahjahanpur on Monday. A total of 25 cases were heard, and three couples reached a mutual settlement following counselling. All three couples were subsequently sent home together after the reconciliation.
In one case from the Sadar Bazar area, a couple had been married for around three years. The wife had been staying at her parental home for the past 12 days and alleged that her husband had assaulted her. The husband said he became angry when his wife abused him verbally. During counselling, both sides understood each other’s concerns, and the husband agreed to respect his wife’s wishes and live together peacefully.
In another case from the Sadar Bazar area, the couple had been married for about six months. The wife had been staying at her parental home for the past two months. She alleged that her husband was unemployed and did not provide household expenses, while her in-laws also harassed her. The husband assured the counselling team that he would talk to his family and wanted to take his wife back and live with her peacefully. Following counselling, both agreed to resolve their differences and stay together.
In a third case from the Kotwali area, the couple had been married for around five years. The wife alleged that her husband verbally abused and assaulted her at the behest of his mother. During counselling, the husband agreed to respect his wife’s concerns and avoid further disputes. After discussions and mutual understanding, both parties reached a settlement and were sent home together.
Family Counselling Centre In-charge Sub-Inspector Madhu Yadav said that efforts are being made to prevent families from breaking apart by resolving disputes through dialogue, counselling and mutual understanding.
Woman Head Constable Chandrakanta Sharma, Women Constables Pinky, Nisha Mishra, Sheetal Chauhan, Rashmi Chaudhary, Monika Kumari and Constable Vineet Kumar, among others, were present on the occasion.
